First digital party conference of the European Greens

Greens from all over Europe met online to discuss the consequences of the corona crisis from 10th-13th June 2020. After three days of negotiations, panel discussions and speeches from all over the continent, European Greens voted in favour of four resolutions by a large majority. In addition, URA from Montenegro became a new member party of the European Green family.

Debates focused on the European recovery after Corona, which the EGP committee addressed in the key motion. The resolution covers strategies for an ecological and social recovery that enable us to to deal with several crises at once. At our initiative, an emergency resolution was also tabled to support the #BlackLivesMatter movement and the fight against racism in Europe. It specifies clear demands on the EU and the member states to counter racial discrimination in institutions and to deal with the consequences of colonial crimes and their today’s ramifications. In addition, we have also approved a resolution on climate-neutrality and another to strengthen the rights of platform workers.

The plenary discussions on future crisis resilience, the Green Deal, the social-ecological transformation and other contributions are available online HERE. All the resolutions in full length can be found HERE.

The next EGP Council is planned for December 4-6 in Warsaw.
